How often do you have the opportunity in life to make a difference, no matter how small the charity? These moments surround us but many times we overlook them in our complexity, when the solution is simple. The biggest healing often times come from the smallest kindnesses. This is what the core value of Al Maun Fund expresses. The small kindnesses that make the largest difference in the healing of people – financially, emotionally and most importantly spiritually. Here is a small list of the cases that Al Maun Fund is attempting to help today.

cr.1264 Expectant mother (with one other young child with her) is currently in safe house due to physical harm.She is working until she delivers which is within the next month. She needs basic items for her two children, including a stroller.

You can donate specifically to these families, referencing the CR # or you can donate to the General Fund for Al Maun Fund that will assist with other families and overhead costs.

Please remember that it is first by Allaah’s Rahmah, then His softening of the believer’s heart to give that allows us to help people on a daily basis.

We have a family in need of relocating ASAP! They have a child that suffers from a severe pulmonary condition and severe allergies to several molds. It is medically necessary that the child no longer occupy his current residence, as further exposure to the health risk in the home can result in irreversible obstruction and chronic lung disease.

The child is currently hospitalized and cannot be released until a new home is secured. They are in need of $500 to secure the new apartment. They are able to pay the rent with no problem after that.

This request has been verified, and documented from the pediatric hospital.

Meet for Meat is a project to distribute the Qurban/Udhiya meat to needy Muslims.

The project has three goals:
-Encouraging Muslims to offer their Qurban locally
-Reviving the Sunnah of sharing the meat
-Reviving the Sunnah of eating the meat during Eid Al-Adha and the following 3 days.

We are going to replicate this project in different cities. Please share your experience if you did a similar meat distribution project.

Assalaamu Alaikum

Since HalfDate is a very inspirational project and cause to me and many others around the world…I wanted to share this story with all of the HalfDate community – if you deem it suitable – to inspire them…especially children!

There are two children, Luba (8yrs) and Bilal (almost 7yrs), who live in a community that doesn’t have many Muslims. Despite that, they have been striving to learn about the deen with the help of their Mom, and have recently started performing their 5 daily prayers regularly, and for the first time were able to fast in Ramadaan for the full (LONG) day (in Canada). And since they have learned that Ramadaan is the month of giving, they took up a special Ramadaan project…they made Eid greeting cards and sold them to their close family members, and they are donating all the funds they made from their sales for sadaqah. [And the $30 donation I'm sending on their behalf is the money they have collectively made so far selling their cards].

We hope, that by sharing their story, Luba and Bilal will be encouraged to continue keeping their prayers, fasting, and doing acts of charity; and that it will inspire other children from all around the world to take up little projects and use them to raise funds for good causes, and that family and friends support children around them and encourage them to do good.

As Salaamu Alaikum,

This truck helps us pick up recycle items and haul large donations. We
can go and get items that we can turn into the recycling center and
earn our way.  It comes in handy for picking large donations of food,
etc. from other agencies. We would not have been able to keep the
doors open to our office if we did not have this truck to use. We have
existed off of huge donations from agencies like the United Way.  Fund
raising is not easy these days and many of our supporters are coming
to us for some type of assistance.

As salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. JazakAllahu Khayr for the information sent about the Zakat foundation of America.  AlhamdulliAllah they came and visit the site and  they did approve us for a grant for the month of ramadhan to feed us for iftar and gave us a grant to assist us with what ever else we need for the home this particular grant will help us with our rent for the Phase II Home insha’Allah.
